Aaron Rogers Ready for Packers Return to Glory

Green Bay Packers are the only community owned, non Profit , major league professional sports team in the United States of America. They are the last remaining of the small town teams that formed a major part of NFL in 1920s and 1930s. A glorified history that included the most number of league Championships (12) in the pre- Superbowl era and three SuperBowl victories thereafter, packers have emerged as one of the stronger NFL teams over a period of time. Along the way Packers have also been involved in quite a few gripping rivalries with Chicago Bears, Minnesota Vikings and Dallas Cowboys. Another Interesting fact about the team is that “Green Bay Packers” is the oldest team name still in use in the NFL.

Packers have been the charisma team of the NFL. In the 1960’s they won five world championships in a seven year period. Bart Starr, Jim Taylor, Henry Jordan became household names in the States as a result. The 1970’s , 80’s and early 90’s were not very productive for the packers and hence when the management shook up things a little bit a new star was unearthed. Bret Favre. Favre served the packers with distinction for 16 years which also included winning a Super Bowl in 2007.

When Favre announced his retirement in 2008, the baton was passed to Aaron Rodgers, who was the first QB other than Favre to start for packers in 16 years. When Favre returned to the NFL six months after his retirement as a New York Jets Player, the match ups between packers and Jets became the most highly anticipated ones in the league and even went on to break many a television ratings records.

With so much happening around the Packers, people are queing up to catch Packers tickets on Sale. This is the season that would determine whether Packers have moved on from Brett Favre era and if they are in safe hands with Aaron Rodgers.
