Tickifieds Top 10 Weekly Searches – 1D Holds off Justin Bieber Again

One Direction TourAfter a crazy weekend with some of the hottest on sale events in recent memory, One Direction is still the king.  While we fully expected Justin Bieber to over-take the imported boy band on this weeks list of the top ticket searches on Tickifieds.com, it just was not meant to be.  Combined searches and traffic for Justin Bieber was extremely strong though. The “Biebs” came within a few percentage points of hitting the #1 spot for the first time after tickets to his 2012 Believe Tour went on sale.  Expect these two titans of teenage dreams to battle in out all summer long.

Despite all the hype and drama that comes along with these teenage pop icons, some other events are gaining a lot of traction with potential ticket buyers.  As you can see from the list below, sports are making a bit of a comeback with the basketball, hockey, golf, and even soccer making the top 10 this week.

Top 10 Tickifieds Ticket Searches

1.  One Direction

What else is there to say…1D is absolutely dominating the ticket market right now.  Not even the “Kurt Cobain” of his generation Justin Bieber can knock them off the pedestal.

2.  Justin Bieber

We were a little disappointed in the Biebs this week.  We thought for sure he would be #1 if only for one week.  Is Justin Bieber losing his following?

3.  Ryder Cup

With Tiger Woods breaking records, golf is back on the mind of many fans.  With the Ryder Cup slate for this fall in the Chicagoland area, expect it to be a hot ticket all summer long.

4.  Brazil vs Argentina

Brazil soccer makes the list once again but this time it appears people are specifically seeking out tickets to their match against Argentina.

5.  LA Kings Stanley Cup

With the LA Kings about to go up 3-0 to the New Jersey Devils in the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals, hockey fans in LA are starting to get excited.  The Kings will get a chance to win the  Stanley Cup in Game 4 right in LA.

6.  Miami Heat

The drama continues for the Miami Heat…After winning the first two games of the series, the Boston Celtics have evened things up with two wins in a row.  Game 5 in Miami and Game 6 in Boston, are expected to draw record ticket prices.

7.  American Idol

The season 11 American Idols are about to hit the road for their live tour and interested has been both strong and steady.  Ticket prices are very affordable and lots of volume is being sold.

8. Foster the People

Well at least there is one representative of good old rock and/or roll on the list this week.  Foster the People will be hitting the road hard in June as they wrap up their 2012 tour.

9.  Jason Aldean

It’s been a mighty good year for Jason Aldean.  The country crooner continues to be one of the searched for artists currently on tour.

10. Bama Jam

With an all-star lineup that includes Tim McGraw, Zac Brown Band, Kid Rock, Eric Church, Alan Jackson, Needtobreathe, Uncle Kracker, and Willie Nelson it’s no wonder BamaJam 2012 makes the top 10.  BamaJam will take place over 3 days (June 14-16) in, you guessed it, Alabama.

Tickifieds Top 10 Weekly Searches – Justin Bieber Challenges 1D

2012 Justin Bieber TicketsThanks to some much needed rest and relaxation over memorial day weekend we got a little behind keeping you all informed about the hottest events in the event ticket industry.  So we won’t waste your time talking about how One Direction has once again dominated the Tickifieds list of most search terms.  Or how this week we welcomed a new challenger (aka Justin Bieber) who could possibly unseat 1D as the  hottest ticket on Tickifieds.com.   We’ll just get to the list and let you make you own conclusions…

Just read the rest of the top 10.

Top 10 Tickifieds Ticket Searches

1.  One Direction

The British boy band wonders show no signs of slowing down.  With school about to break for summer expect the tweeners to be busy trying to pry credit cards from their parents hands.

2. Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber recently announced his 2012-2013 “Believe Tour” and pre-sale tickets went on sale last weekend.  Tickets to the tour officially go on sale on Friday and Saturday and we suspect that the “Biebs” will supplant 1D as the hottest ticket.

3. Katt Fest

Oklahoma City’s Katt Fest came out of nowhere to come in at #3 this week.   With an impressive lineup that includes Hinder, Papa Roach, Buckcherry, Puddle of Mudd, POD, Red, Crossfade and Drive A it’s not that much of a surprise.

4.  Los Angeles Kings

No that the Lakers and Clippers have been eliminated, sports fans in Los Angeles are finally catching on to the LA Kings.

5.  Brazil Soccer

Soccer seems to really be catching on in the US and fans are excited to see one of the best clubs in the world play live in person.  Brazil will face Argentina in New Jersey on 6/9, the USA on 5/30 in Washington DC, and Mexico in Dallas on 6/3.

6.  CMA Music Festival

Nashville will be the Mecca of country music this June as Jason Aldean, The Band Perry, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Glen Campbell, Hunter Hayes, Alan Jackson, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, The Mavericks, Scotty McCreery, Brad Paisley, Kenny Rogers, Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Zac Brown Band, Rascal Flatts, Miranda Lambert, Martina McBride, and so many others will be playing the 2012 CMA Festival.

7.  Ringling Brothers Circus

The kids are about to be out of school for the summer and what better way to spend family time than at the Circus.

8.  American Idol Tour

Season 11 of American Idol may be over but fans are still eager to see their favorite contestants live in concert.  The tour will feature the Top 10 including Colton Dixon, DeAndre Brackensick, Elise Testone, Erika Van Pelt, Heejun Han, Hollie Cavanagh, Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet, Phillip Phillips and Skylar Laine.

9.  Carrie Underwood

The reigning queen of country music recently announced her 2012-2013 Blown Away Tour and ticket demand has been strong and steady.  Tickets officially went on sale last week so expect demand to continue to build as the tour goes on.

10. Miami Heat

After being down 1-2 to the Indiana Pacers, Lebron James and Dwayne Wade have seemed to get the ship righted just in time for the Eastern Conference Finals.  Fans in Miami still suck but at least they are filling American Airlines Arena.

Tickifieds Top 10 Weekly Searches – One Direction Back on Top

One Direction Tour is #1After just 1 week sitting at #2 on the weekly Tickifieds.com Top 10 Weekly Searches, One Direction (1D) has reclaimed the top spot.  We would go into detail as to why One Direction is dominating the event ticket industry right but we have been there and done that.  What is more intriguing this week is the return of sports to the list.  It’s not all that surprising as both the NBA and NHL playoff are heating up significantly (no pun intended).  Last week the NBA playoffs suffered a big blow as Derek Rose and the major market Chicago Bulls fell to the Philadelphia 76ers.  Many fans thought that meant the Miami Heat had an easy and uninteresting path to the NBA Finals.  However, Lebron Jame and Dwayne Wade lost their partner in crime Chris Bosh to an injury.  Following the loss of Bosh the Heat have lost 2 in a row to the #3 seeded Indiana Pacers.  The series between the Heat and Pacers has been getting testy and, as a result, both the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers are this week’s #2 and #3 search terms this week.

Also making the top ten this week are the Oklahoma City Thunder.  The Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook led team is up 3-1 on the Lakers and looks like they will be facing the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Western Conference Finals.  Playoff hockey is also generating quite a bit of fan interest as the LA Kings come in at #4 and the NY Rangers #8.    The Kings are up 3-0 on the Phoenix Coyotes and will look advance to the Stanley Cup Finals with another win on Sunday.  The Rangers are currently up 2-1 and will be in New Jersey for game 4 on Monday, and at Madison Square Garden for game 5 on Wednesday.  Here is the rest of the top 10.

Top 10 Tickifieds Ticket Searches

1.  One Direction

The British Boy Band invasion continues as One Direction reclaims the top spot on the Tickifieds search results.  1D fans are still scrambling to find tickets to these sold out show with prized meet and greet tickets demanding top dollar.

2.  Miami Heat

There always seems to be drama in Miami Heat locker room.  Chris Bosh is out and Dwayne Wade continues to act like a child and the Heat find themselves down 1-2 against the superstar-less Indiana Pacers.  The Heat maybe the most polarizing team in professional sports and it is reflected in ticket interest.

3.  Indiana Pacers

Not many gave the Indiana Pacers a chance to even win a game against the Heat let alone have a chance to get past them and go to the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals.  Pacer fans are starting to believe and fan in Indianapolis would love to be there when the Heat go down.

4.  Los Angeles Kings

The LA Kings came out of nowhere and have dominated the NHL Western Conference.  The Kings are up 3-0 and look like a lock to make the 2012 NHL Stanley Cup Finals.  Not bad for a #8 seed no one thought would make it out of the first round.

5.  Mexico vs Brasil Soccer

International friendly soccer matches are garnering a lot of attention this year as soccer is starting to gain traction in the US.  The match between Mexico and Brasil is one of the biggest.

6.  Avicii

Tim Bergling, aka Avicii, is apparently taking the US by storm.  The Swedish DJ, remixer, and record producer is hot right as indicated by his numerous sold out shows throught the country.

7.  Oklahoma City Thunder

With the Heat not looking like the team James and Wade proclaimated would win not two, three, four, but 7 NBA Championship, the door is wide open for the Thunder.  While OKC is not a major market sports city, fans are still selling out the stadium.

8.  New York Rangers

New Yorkers love their sports and the Rangers are perhaps the best team in the city.  The Rangers are currently up 2-1 in the NHL Eastern Conference Finals and are just 2 games away from the Stanley Cup Finals.

9.  American Idol

With American Idol down to the final 2 contestants (Phil Philips and Jessica Sanchez), fans are gearing up for the live tour.  Although tickets are still available in many cities, premium seats are long gone.

10.  LSU Football

For sports fans not into the NBA, NHL, or MLB, college football is just a few short months away.  The LSU Tigers are expected to once again compete for a national title despite losing half the team to the NFL in this years draft.  Tickets are already available on a limited basis.

American Idols LiveTickets to the 2012 version of American Idols Live! go on sale this Friday May 11th, 2012 at 10:00 AM.  For years, American Idol has been the #1 rated television show in the nation.  This year has been no exception as this season contestant are regularly referred to as the “best ever”.  While that high praise has mostly come from the surprisingly positive judges Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, and Steven Tyler there is no doubt this years contestants are uber talented.  Legendary producer Jimmie Iovine has been a little more critical but largely agrees with the judges.  So, when is American Idol going to name Jimmie Iovine a judge?  He is the only one these days capable of honestly judging the contestants these days!

The American Idol Tour will feature the top 10 finalists featured on this years show.  The 2012 American Idols Live Tour will showcase the talents of Christian rocker Colton Dixon, the ever-flamboyant DeAndre Brackensick, throwback rocker chick Elise Testone, Erika Van Pelt, funnyman Heejun Han, pop princess Hollie Cavanagh, diva in training Jessica Sanchez, the soulful Joshua Ledet, the Dave Matthewsesque Phillip Phillips and county cutie Skylar Laine.  The show is down to the final four:  Hollie Cavanagh, Jessica Sanchez, Joshua Ledet, and Phil Philips.  It will be interesting to see who prevails as there is certainly not a clear front runner.  Who do you think will be…the “next American Idol”?
