Tickifieds Top 10 Weekly Searches – 8 in a row for 1D

One Direction

One Direction makes it 8 in a row atop the Tickifieds Top Performers list.

One Direction continues to build upon their record with 8 straight weeks atop the Tickifieds Top Events list.  The British boy band is absolutely destroying the competition as they occupy the 9 of the top 10 search terms this week and 34 of the top 40.  They only other term to sneak into the top 10 was Jason Aldean.   However, the good news is we finally have some new artists and sports teams on the list this week.  Following all the attention of the All Star Game, two MLB teams make the list in the Boston Red Sox and Atlanta Braves.  Football is also showing some signs of life as two popular Texas teams make their debut – the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns.  I know one thing, this blogger cannot wait for football to come…with One Direction shows scheduled out to 2013, football is our only hope in the efforts to crown a new champion.

Top 10 Tickifieds Ticket Searches (July 9 – July 15, 2012)

1. One Direction

8 weeks in a row and Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam  Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson show no signs of letting go of their grip on teenage girls.

2.  Jason Aldean

Jason Aldean is back on the list and comes in at #2 this week.  The country music star will be hit the road hard in the coming week with shows in Wisconsin (Twin Lakes for Country Thunder and Eau Claire for Country Jam USA), Delaware, North Carolina (Charlotte and Raliegh), and New Jersey (Camden).

3.  Texas Longhorns

Football is BIG in Texas and the Longhorns are the state team of choice.  After a few down years many expect to see them contend for a Big 12 title this year with the Oklahoma Sooners.  Texas will look to build upon the #1 rushing attack and defense and improve upon their 8-5 year.

The Boston Red Sox find themselves in unfamiliar territory – last place in the competitive AL East.  However, they are still within striking distance as they are .500 and are still in the chase for a wildcard spot.

6.  Atlanta Braves

The Atlanta Braves are an impressive 10 games above .500 but trail the Washington Nationals by 3 games.  With an extra wildcard spot this year, the Braves are poised for post-season with a cast of new characters like Martin Prado, Jason Heyward, and Freddie Freeman.

Tickifieds Top 10 Weekly Searches – Hangout Festival Unseats 1D

2012 Hangout Music Festival LineupAfter a nice mother’s day weekend it’s hard not reflect back on life and think about all of those accumulated memories.  If  you are anything like me, many of my fondest memories were made at a sporting events and even concerts.  I will never forget going to my first Chicago Cubs game with my family in 1984, to seeing my first concert with friends (The Offspring and Rancid at the Vic in Chicago in 1994) , or even attending my first music festival (Lollapalooza 1995).  Even in a recession (if that is what we are calling it these days) people long to be entertained.  So while the economy continues to struggle demand for tickets to concert, sports, and theater event remains as strong as any industry.

A good barometer of ticket demand is, and continues to be, the search data from our site Tickifieds.com.  Today, we are breaking down the top 10 ticket searches for the Week starting on Saturday May 5th and ending on Sunday May 13th, 2012.

Top 10 Tickifieds Ticket Searches

The British boy band One Direction (1D for short) continues to be extremely popular with the teens and tweens.  This is starting to look like the second-coming of Beatlemania..

Jennifer Lopez is coming on strong thus far in 2012.  Despite her recent divorce, her new album and stint on American Idol is keeping her right in the spotlight.

5. Texas A&M Football

The Texas A&M Aggies bolted from the Big 12 and made the bold move to the SEC.  Tickets for Aggies football are in big demand as they will face top teams like LSU, Arkansas, and Florida in their inaugural season in the SEC.

The most popular show on television translate quite nicely into a US concert tour.  Tickets to AI just went on sale last friday and you can expect them to be a mainstay on the top 10 list.

Top Weekend Events August 26 – 28

Happy Hump Day to you!

The trend for this weekend is Country Music!!  In particular interest are the Jason Aldean shows.  I can’t begin to say how many queries I’ve fielded about these two particular shows specifically.  This man’s shows are hot!  Fans are anxious to get their hands on tickets, ideally, lawn seats.

The American Idol shows also have a heavy fan following.  Past season’s winner country music singer, Scotty McCreary, headlines the show. His other top ten performers; Lauren Alaina, Haley Reinhart, James Durbin, Jacob Lusk, Casey Abrams, Stefano Langone, Paul McDonald, Pia Toscano, Naima Adedapo and Thia Megia.

You should be used to seeing Kenny Chesney, ZBB and Keith Urban on the list by now.  American fans want to soak up the last bits of summer while they are able.  Country music should continue to be popular into early fall.

The Licking River Festival is a weekend of Americana/roots music,  food and drinks out in Kentucky which is big with the camping crowd.  The Festival will feature Reverend Peyton’s Big Damn Band and 20 other performers.

Two MLS soccer games made the list this weekend.  The Colorado Rapids at the Chicago Fire’s home turf and the Sounders against the Crew.  Interesting point of interest; the Sounder’s majority owner is Hollywood producer Joe Roth, and its minority owners are Adrian Hanauer, Paul Allen and Drew Carey. Keep your eye on other MLS soccer games.  The MLS season goes through October and the games are usually well priced!
