1D, NFL Playoffs and Rodeo Rocking in the New Year – Tickifieds Top 10

Houston-Rodeo-2013Despite the fact that this is one of the slowest times of the year for ticket sales, Tickifieds is pleased to report record levels of traffic over the past 7 days.  Although, traffic is not quite where it was prior to Google’s infamous “Penguin” update, we are getting really really close to being able to call it a full recovery.  Although One Direction is responsible for a good chunk of traffic, we saw some major gains made by other events.  Most notable of the bunch are the rodeo events (the Houston, San Antonio, and Austin Rodeos) and the NFL Playoffs (AFC and NFC Championship Games).

Even more encouraging is the diversity and depth of keywords that are bringing traffic to our event ticket classifieds.  Many events big and small listed at Tickifieds are again appearing on the first page of the search results within minutes or being listed.  So stay tuned as the Tickifieds Top 10 is about to get even more competitve….watch our One Direction!

Tickifieds.com Top Ticket Searches (3/2 to 3/4/2012)

Well the weekend is about over and I hope that all our loyal readers feel much more refreshed than I do.  It was an extremely busy weekend over here as we have been slaving away working on a new project – Event Bark.  Event Bark is a local event and entertainment guide where users can list local events.  While you may think that sounds a lot like Tickifieds it is actually quite different.  Although you can list event tickets for sale, Event Bark is much more focused on local and community events.  So, in addition to the normal concert, theater, and sporting events users can list thinks like garage sales, benefits and fundraisers, If you have a few minutes I encourage you to check it out and let us know what you think.  It has some really cool features such as integrated maps where you can view local events.  Any feedback would be appreciated as the site is still in beta.

2011 College Football Pre-Season Rankings

#1 Auburn Tigers

The Top Ranked Auburn Tigers without Cam Newton will hope to repeat in 2011.

With the NFL labor dispute threatening the 2011 NFL season, college football is gearing up and is ready to satisfy your football fix.  Although summer seemingly just begun, many college football programs are beginning their summer camps in preparation for the first game in early September.  It’s hard to believe that is only a month and a half away!

The 2011 NCAA Football season should be another exciting one as prominent football programs Nebraska and Colorado changed conferences.  The Nebraska Cornhuskers decided to leave the Big 12 and join the Big 10.  This could not have come at a better time for the Big 10 as annual BCS contenders Ohio State’s future is up in the air following the NCAA investigation of Jim Tressel and Terrelle Pryor deciding not to come back.  The Colorado Buffaloes also decided to join the ranks of the PAC 10 and will be sure to form some natural rivalries with schools on the west coast.

To no ones surprise, the 2010-11 BCS National Champions Auburn Tigers are the preseason favorites this year.  It will be interesting to see if they can overcome the loss of the dynamic Cam Newton and continue their unbeaten streak.  If they have trouble adjusting, the TCU Horned Frogs will have a shot at the BCS crown.  The would be quite a feat for a team from the Mountain West. PAC 10 powerhouses Oregon and Stanford, along with LSU and Alabama of the SEC also have strong teams heading into the season and could contend for a National Championship.  The rest of the Free Ticket Classifieds Blog top 10 is below:

Top 10 Hottest 2010 College Football Tickets

With the NBA Finals and NHL Stanley Cup just about over, sports fans not interested in baseball have already turned their attention to College and NFL Football.  However, with the recent talk of NCAA conference realignment the sports world is buzzing with debate over NCAA football.  All the controversy started when the Big 10 announced they will be expanding the conference to 14 teams beginning as early as 2011.  As soon as this was announced everyone began talking about what 3 teams may be headed to the Big 10.  Speculation began with top college football programs like Notre Dame, Texas, Nebraska, Missouri, Rutgers, Pittsburgh, Maryland, and many others rumored to be on the Big 10’s shortlist.

All the rumors also stirred up trouble for other conferences as fear of losing a top college program crept in.  Most notably the Big 12 is in a state of disarray as the thought of losing  powerhouse programs like Texas and Nebraska would leave the Big 12 in shambles.  In fact all the rumors caused the first domino to fall as Colorado announced that it will be joining the PAC 10.  The Colorado decision paved the way for Nebraska to officially announce that it will be joining the Big 10.

This is only the tip of the iceberg as many experts expect conference alignments to undergo some radical changes all of which could be announced later this summer.  Realignment rumors and buzz have many fans worried that many traditional college football rivalry games will cease to exist if teams end up heading to different conferences. This has led to a huge rush of fans looking for tickets to perhaps their favorite teams final year in their conference.  The month of June has already been good for college football ticket sales.  Below is a list of the top 10 hottest college football tickets as measured by the number of unique visitors to Free Ticket Classifieds.
