NBA and NHL Playoffs Driving Ticket Sales in May

NBA PlayoffsSpringtime is typically one of the slowest times of the year in terms of ticket sales.   We are still a few months away from the summer concert season, warm baseball games, and the start of both college and NFL football.  However, spring is also the time when both the NHL and NBA are conducting their annual post-season tournaments.  Although both the NBA and NHL are largely struggling to fill their arenas, the playoffs are a different story as fans are eager to gobble up often sold out tickets- especially in major sports markets like Philadelphia, Washington DC, New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Miami, Atlanta, Boston, Dallas, and Denver.

Lakers vs Celtics = Big Ticket NBA Finals

With the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs already underway with the Chicago Blackhawks taking a commanding 2-0 lead over the Philadelphia Flyers, sports fans are gearing up for the 2010 NBA Finals.  The 2010 NBA Finals will feature  2 of the most storied franchises in all of professional sports, the Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics.  Between them, the Celtics (17) and Lakers(10) have combined for a total of 27 NBA Championships.  This classic Rivarly began in the 1980’s as the Boston Celtics and/or the LA Lakers played in every NBA Finals, combining for 7 championship during the decade.  The rivarly was forever immortalized in the classic Magic Johnson vs Larry Bird Video Game in the 1980’s.

The 2010 rivarly has been reborn as petulant Kobe Bryant and his LA Lakers will look to take home NBA Finals title number 11 against Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce, and Rajon Rondo of the Boston Celtics.  This series will be loaded with superstars, big names, and likely big drama.  If you think the East Coast vs West Coast rivarly is big just wait until all the egos on the floor duke it out for NBA supremacy starting with NBA Finals Game 1 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.  The series will return to Boston for Game 3 of the NBA Finals on June 8th, 2010.

Tickets for the NBA Finals are already in huge demand with 2 teams in major sports markets appearing together in the championship for the first time in a number of years.  Despite this Free Ticket Classifieds has a number of tickets to the NBA Finals surprisingly affordable.   If you plan on being in the Los Angeles area check out our selection of Lakers NBA Finals Tickets or for those of you in Boston, check out the selection of Celtics NBA Finals Tickets.
