Denver Broncos Ready for the 2010 Season

The Denver Broncos are one of the more storied NFL franchises.  In 2001, the Denver Broncos opened the doors to their new 76,000 seats stadium by the name of Invesco Field at Mile High.   A critical year for the franchise was 1965 when the franchise had new NFL owners – Allan and Gerald Phipps. They purchased  the team and ensured the franchise would stay in Denver. Fans expressed their gratitude as attendance grew by leaps and bounds.  Attendance tripled from the previous year which made the franchise  legitimate in the Denver market for good.

In the modern era, the Broncos have won four AFC championships(1977, 1986, 1987 and 1989) but they could not win the Super Bowl.   The Giants and Redskins beat them in their two Super Bowl match ups, one being in Florida and the other in California.  Even though head coach Dan Reeves had superstar quarterback John Elway during his prime he could still not win the Super Bowl

In 1997 salvation finally came  when the Denver Broncos hired head coach Mike Shannahan. The Broncos finally won the  Super Bowl that had eluded them for years from their old AFL days.  They did so by beating the Green Bay Packers in Super Bowl XXXII. They came in as double digit underdogs but manged to upset the high powered Brett Farve led Green Bay Packers who were gunning for back to back titles. In 1998  the Broncos also beat the Atlanta Falcons, thus winning back to back Super Bowl titles.
