1D Back on Top – Tickifieds Top 10

Beyonce The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour

Beyonce surges this week to #2 on the Tickifieds Top 10 after announcing her plans to tour in 2013.

Although much of the country was buried in the snow this past week, the hint of spring is in the air as more artists announced plans for summer tours and festival lineups are starting to leak out.  However, this past week has been all about Beyonce as demand for tickets to her 2013 The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour is particularly strong.   Although they just missed list, a late surge by Pearl Jam is also of note.  Pearl Jam broke a box office record by being the fastest concert to sell out at Wrigley Field.  Considering Wrigley Field has hosted the likes of Paul McCartney, Jimmy Buffet, Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Roger Waters, Bruce Springsteen, Dave Matthews Band, Rascal Flatts, Elton John, Billy Joel and the Police that is pretty impressive.

So, without further delay, here are your top events on Tickifieds.com this week….

Top Events Week 6, 2013

1.  One Direction

After a week knocked out of the spotlight by the Super Bowl, 1 Direction is back on top as the #1 event on Tickifieds.  Teenage girls are still eagerly looking for the highly coveted meet and greet passes.  However, they are quickly disappearing.  As always, you need only look at our list of the most popular ads to see just how dominant One Direction is…

2. Beyonce

What a week for pop superstar Beyonce!  First she is the half-time act for Superbowl XLVII then she announces her 2013 The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour.  So far her most popular shows appear to be Brooklyn, Houston, Chicago and Boston.

3. Tim McGraw

Country Music star Tim McGraw is going to be busy in 2013.  He is currently wrapping up his Soul2Soul stint with Faith Hill in Las Vegas before heading out on his 2013 2 Lanes of Freedom summer tour with Brantley Gilbert and Love and Theft.  Tim McGraw will also be playing the 2013 Houston Rodeo.

4.  2013 NCAA Tournament

Interest in College Basketball is really starting to heat up as the fight for a berth in the 2013 NCAA Tournament heats up.  Although ticket sales won’t really heat up until Selection Sunday (3/17/2013), college basketball fans in opening round cities are already buying up seats.  This year the 1st Four will take place in Dayton and 2nd and 3rd Round games will be hosted in Salt Lake, Detroit (Auburn Hills), San Jose, Lexington, Kansas City,  Austin, and Philadelphia.

5.  Daniel Tosh

Comedian Daniel Tosh recently announced plans to hit the road on his 2013 “June Gloom Tour”.  The ambitious tour will cram in a ton over shows during the month of June includes popular stops in Ames Iowa, Grand Rapids, Columbia, Lincoln, and Miami Beach.

6.  The Lumineers

The Lumineers are one of the hottest folksy bands on the planet right now following in the footsteps of the Mumford and Sons and The Avett Brothers.  Their hit song “Ho Hey” is seemingly everywhere right now.  Popular upcoming shows include 4/19 in Berkeley,  4/26 in Austin, and 5/4 at Riverbend in Cincinnati.

7.  NBA All Star game

The 2013 NBA All Star game is starting to garner considerable attention as the event draws near.  Popular tickets include the Rising Stars Challenge, All Star Celebrity Game, and All Star Saturday Night.

8.  Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift comes in this week at #8 after falling out of the top 10 for the first time since she announced her 2013 Red Tour.  Popular upcoming shows include Columbus,  Kansas City,  and Ames.

9.  Zac Brown Band

Fresh off their Grammy Award for best country Album, The Zac Brown Band is back in the top 10.  ZBB has a busy upcoming schedule playing a few solo shows in Kansas City and Springfield Missouri, Omaha, Tallahassee, Tampa, and West Palm Beach before playing the 2013 Houston Rodeo and joining Kenny Chesney on a few dates of  the No Shows Nation Tour.

10. Justin Bieber

After several weeks of being nowhere to be found, Justin Bieber returns to the Top 10 this week.  This is no doubt in response to his appearance on Saturday Night Live this weekend.  TheBiebs will be touring Europe of the next couple of months before returning to the states on June 22nd for his sold out show in San Diego.

Top Events This Weekend (April 13-15, 2012)

  7. Boston Red Sox vs Tampa Bay Rays 4/14 Boston, MA – Like the Yankees, the Red Sox might be in for a long year but that is not enough to keep fans from being their as the BoSox break in Fenway Park for the 2012 season.

Top Weekend Events – March 4 – 6

So, here it is Wednesday again, the first weekend in March.  Given what this important month is should be of zero surprise that college basketball is exceptionally popular already.  March Madness is in the air and ravenous fans are clamoring for the big title.  It should be of note that the next Sunday, March 13th is Selection Sunday, followed by First Four/Play-in game(s) then the first and second round games which include:

North Carolina and Duke perpetually place very high in the tournament and this year should be no different.  They also hold the title for fiercest rivalry in the NCAA.  The strength of the rivalry is amplified by the proximity of the two schools, located only eight miles apart.  Be sure to watch this game!

Showing up another couple times on the top weekend list is Mr. Trey Anastasio. Man!  This guy is on fire!  Perhaps his popularity has something to do with the fact that Phish recently announced their new summer tour?

Also, Comedy Central star, Daniel Tosh, makes an impressive showing on the list.  His show, Tosh.0 is incredibly hilarious and draws in big crowds each week.  It should be of no surprise that his live show also brings in a bring crowd.

Selena Gomez holds down the top place on the list.  Is it due to her budding romance with teen pop star, Justin Beiber?  The world may never know.
