1D Fends off Taylor Swift and Hunter Hayes– Tickifieds Top 10

Top Events Week 23 (5/28/2013 to 6/4/2013)

1. One Direction

T-minus 9 days until One Direction lands on U.S. soil to play the first of their sold out concerts.  First up is Sunrise Florida and the BB&T Center on 6/13/2013.

Jake Bugg has conquered the UK and will be looking to do the same here with his first US tour this summer and fall.

Jake Bugg has conquered the UK and will be looking to do the same here with his first US tour this summer and fall.

2.  Taylor Swift

T-Swift came up a bit short in her bid to unseat the reigning champion One Direction.   Tayor Swift will be out in Canada for the next couple of weeks before heading back to the state to resume her Red Tour.

3.  Hunter Hayes

For the second week in a row, Hunter Hayes comes in at #3. This time the buzz is even stronger as Mr. Hayes recently announced his fall “Let’s Be Crazy” tour dates.  Popular shows include 8/11 in Billings, 11/2 in Greensboro and 12/6 in Kansas City.

4.  Jake Bugg

Another youngster to make the Tickifieds Top 10 – Jake Bugg.  The 19 year old often compared to Bob Dylan has already had a pretty remarkable career in his native England, is just now getting regular airplay in the US.  Jake Bugg is certainly someone to watch!  Hot shows include 9/17 in New York, 9/21  in Chicago and 9/18 in Boston.

5.  Michael Buble

We had thought the surge on interest in Michael Buble concerts had came and passed.  However, this week Mr. Buble came in at a respectable #5.  Hot concerts right now include Buffalo NY 9/24, Philadelphia 9/21 and  Los Angeles 9/29.

6.  Dave Matthews Band

With most schools just about out for summer, many youngsters are looking to snag summer concert tickets.  Nothings says summer concerts quite like DMB.   Popular upcoming shows include 7/12 at Riverbend, 7/23 at the Wharf and 7/5 at Alpine Valley.

7.  The Lumineers

The Lumineers recently announced their 2013 Fall Tour with Nathaniel Rateliff & Dr. Dog.  The tour will kick off at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Colorado on 9/14 and will extend through October.  Other popular shows include 10/4 in St. Louis and 9/22 in Portland.

8.  Chicago Blackhawks

The Blackhawks pulled off a stunning comeback against the Detroit Red Wings to advance to the NHL Eastern Conference Finals against the LA Kings.  The Hawks are up 2-0 in the series and are just 2 wins from getting back to the Stanley Cup finals.

9.  Mindless Behavior

Mindless Behavior is the latest in the seemingly long line of boy bands to make a splash on the Tickifieds Top 10.  Mindless Behavior will kick off their summer tour on 7/3 with a show at the Bob Hope Theater in Stockton CA.  Other popular shows include 7/9 in KC, 7/14 in Greensboro and 7/25 in Baltimore.

10.  Miami Heat

The Miami Heat squeaked out a series win over the Indiana Pacers and will face the San Antonio Spurs in the 2013 NBA Finals.  Despite the fact that Heat look really vulnerable with the Big 3 reverting back to the Big 1, demand for Heat tickets are strong.  Probably because this may be about it for the current Heat bunch.

Tickifieds Top 10 Weekly Searches – 1D Shines, Justin Bieber Falls

Top Tickets this weekAnother week has come and gone and One Direction is still the most in demand ticket according to our search analytics.  This marks the third week in a row for the boy band and they are showing no signs of slowing down.  We can only hope that some of the other events on this weeks’ top 10 can unseat 1D sometime soon.  We have some solid candidates this week as the NBA and NHL Finals had another strong showing.  International soccer again makes the list this time with Real Madrid taking the spot of Brazil.

Perhaps the most exciting trend we noticed this week was the appearance of our first college football team of the new season- Texas A&M.  Texas A&M is joining the SEC this season and is expected to make a great conference even better.  Here’s hoping college football will save this poor blogger from have to write yet another article mentioning One Direction!

Top 10 Tickifieds Ticket Searches

1.  One Direction

The constant demand for One Direction tickets just keeps continuing.  Just have a look at our most popular ads…filled with 1D!

4.  Jason Aldean

Jason Aldean continues dominate the country music sector will his 2012 My Kinda Party Tour.  But I bet they are all going just to see Lauren Alaina and Luke Bryan…

5.  Oklahoma City Thunder

Kevin Durant and Russel Westbrook led the Thunder to their first ever trip to the NBA Finals.  Game 1 will be on Tuesday night against the Miami Heat.  The Thunder fans are pumped up for this star-studded matchup!

6. Stanley Cup Finals

After getting off to a 3-0 series lead, the LA Kings now find themselves in danger of losing 3 in a row.  Game 6 will be Monday night in Los Angeles.

9. BamaJam

This week BamaJam moves up a spot to #9 on our list of top searches.  Fans only have a few more days to get tickets to see Tim McGraw, Zac Brown Band, Kid Rock, Eric Church, Alan Jackson, Needtobreathe, Uncle Kracker, and Willie Nelson at this years fest.

10. Texas A&M Football

College football is always one of the top event on Tickifieds but June is way early to start thinking about football.  But Texas A&M fans must be excited about their big move to the SEC this season.

Tickifieds Top 10 Weekly Searches – 1D Holds off Justin Bieber Again

One Direction TourAfter a crazy weekend with some of the hottest on sale events in recent memory, One Direction is still the king.  While we fully expected Justin Bieber to over-take the imported boy band on this weeks list of the top ticket searches on Tickifieds.com, it just was not meant to be.  Combined searches and traffic for Justin Bieber was extremely strong though. The “Biebs” came within a few percentage points of hitting the #1 spot for the first time after tickets to his 2012 Believe Tour went on sale.  Expect these two titans of teenage dreams to battle in out all summer long.

Despite all the hype and drama that comes along with these teenage pop icons, some other events are gaining a lot of traction with potential ticket buyers.  As you can see from the list below, sports are making a bit of a comeback with the basketball, hockey, golf, and even soccer making the top 10 this week.

Top 10 Tickifieds Ticket Searches

1.  One Direction

What else is there to say…1D is absolutely dominating the ticket market right now.  Not even the “Kurt Cobain” of his generation Justin Bieber can knock them off the pedestal.

2.  Justin Bieber

We were a little disappointed in the Biebs this week.  We thought for sure he would be #1 if only for one week.  Is Justin Bieber losing his following?

3.  Ryder Cup

With Tiger Woods breaking records, golf is back on the mind of many fans.  With the Ryder Cup slate for this fall in the Chicagoland area, expect it to be a hot ticket all summer long.

4.  Brazil vs Argentina

Brazil soccer makes the list once again but this time it appears people are specifically seeking out tickets to their match against Argentina.

5.  LA Kings Stanley Cup

With the LA Kings about to go up 3-0 to the New Jersey Devils in the 2012 Stanley Cup Finals, hockey fans in LA are starting to get excited.  The Kings will get a chance to win the  Stanley Cup in Game 4 right in LA.

6.  Miami Heat

The drama continues for the Miami Heat…After winning the first two games of the series, the Boston Celtics have evened things up with two wins in a row.  Game 5 in Miami and Game 6 in Boston, are expected to draw record ticket prices.

7.  American Idol

The season 11 American Idols are about to hit the road for their live tour and interested has been both strong and steady.  Ticket prices are very affordable and lots of volume is being sold.

8. Foster the People

Well at least there is one representative of good old rock and/or roll on the list this week.  Foster the People will be hitting the road hard in June as they wrap up their 2012 tour.

9.  Jason Aldean

It’s been a mighty good year for Jason Aldean.  The country crooner continues to be one of the searched for artists currently on tour.

10. Bama Jam

With an all-star lineup that includes Tim McGraw, Zac Brown Band, Kid Rock, Eric Church, Alan Jackson, Needtobreathe, Uncle Kracker, and Willie Nelson it’s no wonder BamaJam 2012 makes the top 10.  BamaJam will take place over 3 days (June 14-16) in, you guessed it, Alabama.

This top 10 list is compiled from internal search data from Tickifieds.com and organic traffic from search engines.  Search terms are ranked by using a combination of both sources of search data.

2011 NHL Playoffs – Round 1 – Official

So, last week’s hockey post nailed a lot of the final playoff’s teams.  Just not all of them.   The official 2011 Playoff Teams were finally decided with a lucky last chance addition of the Blackhawks.  Below is the schedule for the first round games, which will take place April 13th27th.

Eastern Conference Quarter Final Matchups

#1 Washington Capitals vs #8 New York Rangers

#2 Philadelphia Flyers vs #7 Buffalo Sabres

#3 Boston Bruins vs #6 Montreal Canadiens

#4 Pittsburgh Penguins vs #5 Tampa Bay Lightning

Western Conference Quarter Final Matchups

#1 Vancouver Canucks vs #8 Chicago Blackhawks

#2 San Jose Sharks vs #7 Los Angeles Kings

#3 Detroit Red Wings vs Phoenix Coyotes

#4 Anaheim Ducks vs #5  Nashville Predators

In the Eastern Conference, ESPN thinks that the Capitals are holding court.  Alex Ovechkin and Alexander Semin are the key players for the team.  Not surprisingly, however, while the Caps are sitting pretty, they should fear the Rangers, as they’ve beaten them three times already this season.   Goalie Henrik Lundqvist is the glue and glitter of the team.  Watch out for him.  All in all though, it is expected for the D.C. Capitals to win.

The Flyers are a formidable team with seven 20-goal scorers.  Poor Tyler Myers from the Flyers is going to have to use his large frame to block a lot of shots coming their way.

This is Boston’s first appearance at the conference final since the 91-92 season when they lost the game to the Penguins.  Tim Thomas has been the absolute shining star on the time with his regular season save percentage (.938) and his 35-11-9 record.  Nice job, Thomas!

While the outlook seemed bleak for the Penguins, due to the injuries of Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Jordan Stall, Marc Andre Fleury has held the team together admirably and hopefully will continue to do so.  There is still a chance (looking slim though) that Crosby will show up for the playoffs.

The Blackhawks made the playoffs on a hope and prayer.  Jonathan Toews is one of the few survivors from last year’s championship team.  Pretty much the only hope the Blackhawks have to advance is if the Canucks make a lot of mistakes, which has been known to happen.

Joe Thornton is what stands between the Sharks and a championship.  He plays awesome regular season, but once it gets to the playoffs, he flakes out.  If he can get it together, perhaps they have a chance.  Here’s hoping!

Ah, Detroit, so nice to see you in the Playoffs again!  Nick Lidstrom leads his Red Wings in another championship attempt.  There’s no reason to discount this team.  Even the Coyotes 20 goal scorer Shane Doan, shouldn’t shake the Red Wings too much.

The Mighty Ducks!  Everyone seems to discount this team for whatever reason.  Seven guys on the team have Stanley Cup Rings,  reigning Richard trophy winner is on the team and there are two 30 goal scorers.  Corey Perry has 50 goals.

This is going to be an exciting first round of playoffs!
