2012 Justin Bieber TicketsThanks to some much needed rest and relaxation over memorial day weekend we got a little behind keeping you all informed about the hottest events in the event ticket industry.  So we won’t waste your time talking about how One Direction has once again dominated the Tickifieds list of most search terms.  Or how this week we welcomed a new challenger (aka Justin Bieber) who could possibly unseat 1D as the  hottest ticket on Tickifieds.com.   We’ll just get to the list and let you make you own conclusions…

Just read the rest of the top 10.

Top 10 Tickifieds Ticket Searches

1.  One Direction

The British boy band wonders show no signs of slowing down.  With school about to break for summer expect the tweeners to be busy trying to pry credit cards from their parents hands.

2. Justin Bieber

Justin Bieber recently announced his 2012-2013 “Believe Tour” and pre-sale tickets went on sale last weekend.  Tickets to the tour officially go on sale on Friday and Saturday and we suspect that the “Biebs” will supplant 1D as the hottest ticket.

3. Katt Fest

Oklahoma City’s Katt Fest came out of nowhere to come in at #3 this week.   With an impressive lineup that includes Hinder, Papa Roach, Buckcherry, Puddle of Mudd, POD, Red, Crossfade and Drive A it’s not that much of a surprise.

4.  Los Angeles Kings

No that the Lakers and Clippers have been eliminated, sports fans in Los Angeles are finally catching on to the LA Kings.

5.  Brazil Soccer

Soccer seems to really be catching on in the US and fans are excited to see one of the best clubs in the world play live in person.  Brazil will face Argentina in New Jersey on 6/9, the USA on 5/30 in Washington DC, and Mexico in Dallas on 6/3.

Tickifieds Top 10 Weekly Searches – One Direction Back on Top

One Direction Tour is #1After just 1 week sitting at #2 on the weekly Tickifieds.com Top 10 Weekly Searches, One Direction (1D) has reclaimed the top spot.  We would go into detail as to why One Direction is dominating the event ticket industry right but we have been there and done that.  What is more intriguing this week is the return of sports to the list.  It’s not all that surprising as both the NBA and NHL playoff are heating up significantly (no pun intended).  Last week the NBA playoffs suffered a big blow as Derek Rose and the major market Chicago Bulls fell to the Philadelphia 76ers.  Many fans thought that meant the Miami Heat had an easy and uninteresting path to the NBA Finals.  However, Lebron Jame and Dwayne Wade lost their partner in crime Chris Bosh to an injury.  Following the loss of Bosh the Heat have lost 2 in a row to the #3 seeded Indiana Pacers.  The series between the Heat and Pacers has been getting testy and, as a result, both the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers are this week’s #2 and #3 search terms this week.

Also making the top ten this week are the Oklahoma City Thunder.  The Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook led team is up 3-1 on the Lakers and looks like they will be facing the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Western Conference Finals.  Playoff hockey is also generating quite a bit of fan interest as the LA Kings come in at #4 and the NY Rangers #8.    The Kings are up 3-0 on the Phoenix Coyotes and will look advance to the Stanley Cup Finals with another win on Sunday.  The Rangers are currently up 2-1 and will be in New Jersey for game 4 on Monday, and at Madison Square Garden for game 5 on Wednesday.  Here is the rest of the top 10.

Top 10 Tickifieds Ticket Searches

1.  One Direction

The British Boy Band invasion continues as One Direction reclaims the top spot on the Tickifieds search results.  1D fans are still scrambling to find tickets to these sold out show with prized meet and greet tickets demanding top dollar.

2.  Miami Heat

There always seems to be drama in Miami Heat locker room.  Chris Bosh is out and Dwayne Wade continues to act like a child and the Heat find themselves down 1-2 against the superstar-less Indiana Pacers.  The Heat maybe the most polarizing team in professional sports and it is reflected in ticket interest.

3.  Indiana Pacers

Not many gave the Indiana Pacers a chance to even win a game against the Heat let alone have a chance to get past them and go to the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals.  Pacer fans are starting to believe and fan in Indianapolis would love to be there when the Heat go down.

4.  Los Angeles Kings

The LA Kings came out of nowhere and have dominated the NHL Western Conference.  The Kings are up 3-0 and look like a lock to make the 2012 NHL Stanley Cup Finals.  Not bad for a #8 seed no one thought would make it out of the first round.

5.  Mexico vs Brasil Soccer

International friendly soccer matches are garnering a lot of attention this year as soccer is starting to gain traction in the US.  The match between Mexico and Brasil is one of the biggest.

6.  Avicii

Tim Bergling, aka Avicii, is apparently taking the US by storm.  The Swedish DJ, remixer, and record producer is hot right as indicated by his numerous sold out shows throught the country.

7.  Oklahoma City Thunder

With the Heat not looking like the team James and Wade proclaimated would win not two, three, four, but 7 NBA Championship, the door is wide open for the Thunder.  While OKC is not a major market sports city, fans are still selling out the stadium.

8.  New York Rangers

New Yorkers love their sports and the Rangers are perhaps the best team in the city.  The Rangers are currently up 2-1 in the NHL Eastern Conference Finals and are just 2 games away from the Stanley Cup Finals.

9.  American Idol

With American Idol down to the final 2 contestants (Phil Philips and Jessica Sanchez), fans are gearing up for the live tour.  Although tickets are still available in many cities, premium seats are long gone.

10.  LSU Football

For sports fans not into the NBA, NHL, or MLB, college football is just a few short months away.  The LSU Tigers are expected to once again compete for a national title despite losing half the team to the NFL in this years draft.  Tickets are already available on a limited basis.

NHL Playoffs Predictions

HockeyPlayoff season is in the air for NBA, NCAA and NHL.  Today, let’s just focus on hockey.

It’s been a long tiring 82 game regular season for the 16 teams who are playoff bound.  One team will have a 16 game winning streak and bring home the coveted Stanley Cup.

Let’s take a peek at the teams, shall we?

In the Eastern Conference the following teams are nearly surely to be playoff bound:

Pittsburgh Penguins - The perpetually popular Penguins (say that 3 times fast!) had a bit of a rought start with the losses of top forwards Evgeni Malkin  and youngin’ Sidney Crosby, but remained in the top three seed.  They’re scrappy.

Washington Capitals – Their skill at keeping the goal tended is awesome.

Philadelphia Flyers – The Flyers are powerhouses on the ice due to their impenetrable offense and quick defense and stellar special teams.  They are a force to be reckoned with.

Tampa Bay Lightning – The Lightening’s offense this year has been rock solid and led by Martin St. Louis and emerging titan of the ice, Steven Stamkos

Boston Bruins – Boston is quite the little sports town this year with the Celtics being playoff bound, the Red Sox reigning at the top of the MLB world and now the Bruins.  After losing Marc Savard due to multiple concussions, they have become dependent on likely Vezina Tropy Winner Tim Thomas (goalie).  Their defense is what makes this team formidable.

On the Western Conference, the following teams look likely to head to the playoffs:

Detroit Redwings – Henrik Zetterberg, Nicklas Lidstron and Daniel Cleary have aided this season team through tough injuries on the core of the team.  The Goal is to get Pavel Datrsyuk back to 100% health before the playoff season starts.

Vancouver Canucks – Come on, they’re Canadian! Hockey is in their blood!  The Canucks have been reigning supreme this entire season.    They also have powerful twins playing, Daniel and Henrick Sedin.  It is highly likely that Daniel will lead the NHL in points for the2010-11 season while his brother will take the title for most assists in the league.  Their parents must be so proud!

San Jose Sharks – Two words.  “Anti” and “Niemi”.  Goalie of the century.  Well, maybe not, but he’s pretty amazing.  The Sharks have the 7th highest goals scored in the NHL thanks to Joe Thornton.

Phoenix Coyotes – The Coyotes?  Who would have thought?  Goalie Illya Bryzgalov is the glue of this team and Shane Doan is the rock.  Doan has logged more the 1100 for the team.

Los Angeles Kings – The Postseason looks a little scary for the Kings since power forward Anze Kopitar broke his ankle against the Avalanche recently  and will sit out the entire postseason.  Ouch.  Hopefully Jonathan Quick can fill Kiopitar’s shoes quickly.

Noticeably absent from these lists are the Chicago Blackhawks who are defending their Stanley Cup Championship from last year.  Perhaps the owners shouldn’t have traded away nearly all of the winning team what seems like minutes after they won? Thank goodness top-tier offense in Patrick Kane and  Jonathan Toews are still kicking around, but this team is vastly different from the winning team last year.

Time will tell which of these teams takes home the cup!
