Top Tickets this weekAnother week has come and gone and One Direction is still the most in demand ticket according to our search analytics.  This marks the third week in a row for the boy band and they are showing no signs of slowing down.  We can only hope that some of the other events on this weeks’ top 10 can unseat 1D sometime soon.  We have some solid candidates this week as the NBA and NHL Finals had another strong showing.  International soccer again makes the list this time with Real Madrid taking the spot of Brazil.

Perhaps the most exciting trend we noticed this week was the appearance of our first college football team of the new season- Texas A&M.  Texas A&M is joining the SEC this season and is expected to make a great conference even better.  Here’s hoping college football will save this poor blogger from have to write yet another article mentioning One Direction!

Tickifieds Top 10 Weekly Searches – One Direction Back on Top

One Direction Tour is #1After just 1 week sitting at #2 on the weekly Tickifieds.com Top 10 Weekly Searches, One Direction (1D) has reclaimed the top spot.  We would go into detail as to why One Direction is dominating the event ticket industry right but we have been there and done that.  What is more intriguing this week is the return of sports to the list.  It’s not all that surprising as both the NBA and NHL playoff are heating up significantly (no pun intended).  Last week the NBA playoffs suffered a big blow as Derek Rose and the major market Chicago Bulls fell to the Philadelphia 76ers.  Many fans thought that meant the Miami Heat had an easy and uninteresting path to the NBA Finals.  However, Lebron Jame and Dwayne Wade lost their partner in crime Chris Bosh to an injury.  Following the loss of Bosh the Heat have lost 2 in a row to the #3 seeded Indiana Pacers.  The series between the Heat and Pacers has been getting testy and, as a result, both the Miami Heat and Indiana Pacers are this week’s #2 and #3 search terms this week.

Also making the top ten this week are the Oklahoma City Thunder.  The Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook led team is up 3-1 on the Lakers and looks like they will be facing the San Antonio Spurs in the NBA Western Conference Finals.  Playoff hockey is also generating quite a bit of fan interest as the LA Kings come in at #4 and the NY Rangers #8.    The Kings are up 3-0 on the Phoenix Coyotes and will look advance to the Stanley Cup Finals with another win on Sunday.  The Rangers are currently up 2-1 and will be in New Jersey for game 4 on Monday, and at Madison Square Garden for game 5 on Wednesday.  Here is the rest of the top 10.

Top 10 Tickifieds Ticket Searches

1.  One Direction

The British Boy Band invasion continues as One Direction reclaims the top spot on the Tickifieds search results.  1D fans are still scrambling to find tickets to these sold out show with prized meet and greet tickets demanding top dollar.

2.  Miami Heat

There always seems to be drama in Miami Heat locker room.  Chris Bosh is out and Dwayne Wade continues to act like a child and the Heat find themselves down 1-2 against the superstar-less Indiana Pacers.  The Heat maybe the most polarizing team in professional sports and it is reflected in ticket interest.

3.  Indiana Pacers

Not many gave the Indiana Pacers a chance to even win a game against the Heat let alone have a chance to get past them and go to the 2012 Eastern Conference Finals.  Pacer fans are starting to believe and fan in Indianapolis would love to be there when the Heat go down.

4.  Los Angeles Kings

The LA Kings came out of nowhere and have dominated the NHL Western Conference.  The Kings are up 3-0 and look like a lock to make the 2012 NHL Stanley Cup Finals.  Not bad for a #8 seed no one thought would make it out of the first round.

5.  Mexico vs Brasil Soccer

International friendly soccer matches are garnering a lot of attention this year as soccer is starting to gain traction in the US.  The match between Mexico and Brasil is one of the biggest.

6.  Avicii

Tim Bergling, aka Avicii, is apparently taking the US by storm.  The Swedish DJ, remixer, and record producer is hot right as indicated by his numerous sold out shows throught the country.

7.  Oklahoma City Thunder

With the Heat not looking like the team James and Wade proclaimated would win not two, three, four, but 7 NBA Championship, the door is wide open for the Thunder.  While OKC is not a major market sports city, fans are still selling out the stadium.

8.  New York Rangers

New Yorkers love their sports and the Rangers are perhaps the best team in the city.  The Rangers are currently up 2-1 in the NHL Eastern Conference Finals and are just 2 games away from the Stanley Cup Finals.

9.  American Idol

With American Idol down to the final 2 contestants (Phil Philips and Jessica Sanchez), fans are gearing up for the live tour.  Although tickets are still available in many cities, premium seats are long gone.

10.  LSU Football

For sports fans not into the NBA, NHL, or MLB, college football is just a few short months away.  The LSU Tigers are expected to once again compete for a national title despite losing half the team to the NFL in this years draft.  Tickets are already available on a limited basis.

Tickifieds Top 10 Weekly Searches – One Direction Continues Domination

Top 10 EventsAnyone involved in marketing knows that the biggest key to success is knowing your customers.  At Tickifieds, we are always scouring our data and analytics to determine what our customers are looking for so that we can pass on that information to those who help populate our site’s classified ads with tickets for our visitors to purchase.  Although one would think that letting the whole world know what events are most popular would provide a competitive disadvantage to those posting the ads, healthy competition lowers prices and is what ultimately leads our visitors to have a positive user experience.  If they get a good deal on tickets they are far more likely to return when looking for tickets to their next event in the future.  Afterall, with the outlandish service charges used by Stubhub and the rampant scams and spam on Craigslist, people are looking for a safe a secure place to shop for tickets.  So enough with the blantant self-promotion…let’s get to the top 10 for the Week starting on April 29th and ending on May 5, 2012.

Top 10 Tickifieds Ticket Searches

1. One Direction

The boy band craze is apparently back in full force as One Direction (1D) has been search for more than 3 times more than any other artist or sports team.  That is pretty impressive given the fact that the NBA and NHL playoffs are currently going on.  In particular VIP, Front Row, and Meet and Greet tickets appear to be in high demand.

NBA Basketball is back and tickets are hot!

Clippers Tickets are hotNBA fans across the nation are happy as the 2011-2012 season has begun.  Following the labor dispute, the NBA season has been shortened to just 66 games.  That means that teams have to squeeze in a lot of games in a short period of time.  As such the season is filled with back-to-back and back-to-back-to-back games.  While the work load is likely difficult on the NBA players, fans get to enjoy some great basketball on each and every night.

In the event ticketing world, NBA tickets are a bit of an untapped market.  While most ticket brokers turn their attention to events that yield higher profit margins such as  concerts and football (both NFL and College), the market is also strong for many NBA teams.  So if you are looking to sell tickets to NBA games we’ve put together a list of the top 10 teams to market for the 2011-2012 NBA Season.

1.  LA Clippers

This one is a bit of a surprise as the Clippers have been overshadowed by the LA Lakers.  However, the addition of Chris Paul and the emergence of Blake Griffin has really drawn a lot of fan interest.

2. New York Knicks

NY Knicks fans have been waiting for a decent team to root for since the Patrick Ewing era.  With Carmelo Anthony back and the addition of Tyson Chandler this team is one of the top contenders in the NBA East.

3. Chicago Bulls

Since the Michael Jordan era Bulls tickets have always been a commodity.  Now that the Bulls are once again title contenders with MVP Derrick Rose at the helm, tickets are in even more demand.

4. Miami Heat

The Miami Heat would be much higher on the list if it weren’t for the fact they play in Miami.  Even with the 3-headed beast of James, Wade, and Bosh Miami fans just don’t seem to care much until playoff time.  Miami has to be one of the worst cities for professional sports fans!

5. Oklahoma City Thunder

Although Oklahoma City is not exactly a big basketball city, Kevin Durant and company are one of the most exciting teams in the NBA.

6. LA Lakers

Los Angeles Lakers tickets are always in demand and this season will be no exception even though they are expected to be on the decline following the retirement of Phil Jackson.  However, any team with Kobe Bryant will draw in the fans.

7. Orlando Magic

Magic fans are coming out in droves to convince perennial MVP candidate Dwight Howard he should stay.

8. Dallas Mavericks

Fresh off their NBA Championship season the Mavs are a little long in the tooth but they still are the champs.  They also still have Dirk Nowitski and should be a lock for another playoff season.

9. New Jersey Nets

Tickets to Nets games are on the rise with continued rumors of a Dwight Howard trade.  Throw in a move next year to the Bronx and the acquisition of Deron Williams and things are looking up for the Nets franchise.

10. Denver Nuggets

It looks as though Nuggets fans are saying good riddance to Carmelo Anthony.  While they no longer have their superstar their team basketball and solid defense has them looking really good!

NBA Playoffs Recap and Schedule

This post probably isn’t as timely as it should be, but it’s mid-way through the Round 1 games and this should be a nice little recap and forecast:

 NBA Playoff Schedule:

EASTERN CONFERENCE

So far in the Eastern Conference, the Bulls have taken home the W in 3 of the 4 games.  These games, for the most part have been very close in scoring.  The Pacers finally won the 4th game.  As always, Derrick Rose, point guard for the Bulls, has been the glue that holds the team together.  Hopefully his ankle sprain from last night doesn’t completely derail him and his team.

The same holds true for the Heat over the 76ers.  The second game had a 20 point lead over the Sixers.   The Sixers just don’t have the skill and experience of Wade, Bosch and James.

The Celtics crushed the Knicks in four games; therefore they have won the series and are moving on in the tournament. Boston is gunning for the championships that they feel they were robbed of last year.

The Hawks and the Magic are very evenly matched.  Atlanta narrowly beat out Orlando in 3 of the four games.  The Magic just put too much stock in Dwight Howard, while the Hawks seem to be a more rounded team.

WESTERN CONFERENCE

In the Western Conference, the Spurs have lost one of three games about the Grizzlies.  Zach Randolph and Mike Conley of the Grizzlies drove to the basket and kept Memphis ahead, and suddenly the Grizzlies are looking quite good to take the series.  They are forcing the Spurs to look inexperienced and sloppy.  Their next appearance is tonight.

The Lakers and Hornets are neck and neck.  The games have averaged about 10 points between the winners and losers.  Chris Paul of the Hornets is most definitely the best all-around point guard in the NBA; he has the skill to change games on his own.  This is an interesting series!

The Trailblazers finally decided to show up to the game for the last two games.  They’re willing to give the Mavericks a run for their money.  Tonight’s game should be excellent.

The OKC Thunder is the little team that could.  They might not have the history to back up their team like the Bulls, Lakers or Celtics, but they’re not messing around either.
