Tickifieds Top Events Week 9, 2012

Duke BasketballAlthough March is still a few days away, college basketball is really starting to dominate events for week 9 of 2012 (February 27th through March 4th).  Most NCAA teams are wrapping up their regular season this week and preparing for the conference tournaments with big games against some heated rivals.

In this week’s top event we see #4 Duke Blue Devils matched up against #6  North Carolina Tarheels.  Both teams are tied with 25-4 records (12-2 in the ACC) and the winner will get the #1 seed in the ACC Tournament.  Also likely on the line is a top seed in the NCAA Tournament.  Barring a complete collapse by the winner of this game in the ACC Tourney, the top ACC team will like earn a #1 seed in on of the NCAA Regionals.

Aside from the big ACC game, top events this week include some key SEC and Big 10 matchups and so big time concerts.  So with further delay, here are your top 10 events this week!

Top Events 2012 Week 7 (2/27/2012 to 3/4/2012)

1.  Duke vs North Carolina Basketball 3/3/2012 Cameron Indoor Stadium

ACC college basketball fans have the matchup they have been waiting for all season.  The Cameron Crazies at Cameron Indoor Arena will be rocking for this game!

2.  Michigan State vs Ohio State Basketball 3/4/2012 Breslin Center

Although Michigan State already has the 2012 Big 10 Championship wrapped up, the #10 Ohio State Buckeyes will be looking to make a statement against the #5 Spartans.  A convincing win and MSU might have a shot at a #1 seed in the NCAA tournament.

3.  Florida vs Kentucky Basketball 3/4/2012 Oconnell Center

The #16 Florida Gators will be looking to improve their NCAA Tournament seed by beating the #1 ranked Kentucky Wildcats. Last time these two teams met, the Gators got smoked by 20 points!

4.  Van Halen 3/3/2012  Mohegan Sun Arena

David Lee Roth is back with Van Halen and tickets to their show in Uncasville sold out extremely quickly.  With their massive 2012 tour underway, expect Van Halen to be frequent members of the top 10 club.

5.  Eric Church 3/3/2012 Kovalchick Convention and Athletic Complex

Country crooner Eric Church is one of the hottest country musicians currently on tour.  His party songs like “Homeboy”, “Smoke a little Smoke”, and “Drink in my hand” are sure to be hit during his live performances.

6.  Bruce Hornsby 3/2/2012 Smothers Theatre

Most people think of Bruce Hornsby as a 80’s pop icon but his true fans know his as the musical genius he is.  Aside from his hit albums with The Range, he also was a key member of the Grateful Dead from 1988 until Jerry Garcia’s death in 1995.

7.  Luke Bryan 3/2/2012 Forrest County Multi Purpose Center

Luke Bryan is probably most famous for his campy “Rain is a Good Thing” song but this country musician has blossomed into a true country music star with his latest album “Tailgates and Tanlines”.

8  Red Hot Chili Peppers 2/29/2012 San Diego Sports Arena

Anthony Kiedis, Flea, and the gang are back together selling out shows across the country.  Their show in their homestate is garnering quite a bit of attention.

9.  International Friendly: Chile vs. Ghana 2/29/2012 PPL Park

With the World Cup coming this summer, many international teams are scheduling in some “Friendlies” here on US soil.  Soccer seems to be gaining traction with fans in America of late so expect to see plenty of these type of games making the top 10 list in the future.

10.  The Black Keys 3/4/2012 Schottenstein Center

The Black Keys are turning out to be one of the biggest rock bands on this generation.  If generation X was during the 90’s, what generation are we up to now?

Top Events Week 4, 2012

jason-aldean-2012-Tour TicketsIt’s Monday and that means it’s time to take a look at what is happening this week in the world of sports, music and theater.  Our top event this week is none other than country music superstar Jason Aldean.  Jason Aldean’s 2012 My Kinda Party tour is making some major waves in the ticket resale market.  Joining Aldean on tour will be Luke Bryan and former American idol contestant Lauren Alaina.  Jason Aldean’s show at the Amway Center in Orlando came in at #4 this week and his show in Fayetteville Arkansas just missed the list at #11.

Also, making a strong showing this week are the NFC (#2) and AFC (#5) Championship games.  Ticket interest in the NFC Championship game is especially high as most fans expected the Green Bay Packers to be hosting the big game.  Since they lost, the 49ers will get the honors.

Here are the rest of this week’s top 10…

Top Events 2012 Week 2 (1/17/2012 to 1/23/2012)

1. Jason Aldean Concert 1/20/2012  Bi-Lo Center, Greenville SC

Mr. Aldean’s 2012 My Kinda Party tour is a hot item in Greenville South Carolina.

2.  NFC Championship:  49ers vs Giants 1/22/2012 Candlestick Park, San Francisco, CA

With the upset of the Green Bay Packers, the 49ers get to host the NFC Championship game against the NY Giants.  Tickets officially go on sale on Wednesday but there are plenty of tickets already listed on the secondary market.

3.  Red Hot Chili Peppers 1/21/2012 Amway Center, Orlando, FL

The Red Hot Chili Peppers tour is one of the biggest of 2012 and their show in Orlando is no exception.  The Amway Center will be rocking come Saturday night!

4.  Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons Concert 1/19 Community Theatre Morristown, NJ

The baby boomers sure are excited about the Frankie Valli and the Four Season 3 night stand at the Community Theatre in Morristown.  With lots of shows scheduled for 2012 this might be a big time sleeper!

5.  AFC Championship:  Patriots vs Ravens 1/22/2012 Gillette Stadium, Boston, MA

The Patriots in the AFC Championship game is a bit old-hat for Bostonites.  This game would surely be higher on the list had Patriots fans not gotten complacent over the years with such successful teams.

6.  Jason Aldean Concert 1/22/2012 Amway Center, Orlando, FL

Yet another Jason Aldean show on the list….with the popularity of country music these days it’s no wonder he is dominating the concert listings.

7.  Virginia Tech vs North Carolina Basketball 1/19/2012 Cassell Coliseum, Blacksburg,VA

The Hokies will be hosting the #8 ranked ACC rival North Carolina Tarheels.  UNC is always a big draw in Blacksburg.

8.  Indiana vs Penn State Basketball 1/22/2012 Assembly Hall, Bloomington, IN

Although #11 Indiana lost big on national TV yesterday, Indiana basketball fans still have Hoosier fever…

9. Miami Heat vs LA Lakers 1/19/2012 American Airlines Arena, Miami, FL

Kobe vs Lebron and Wade.  Enough said…

10. AMA Supercross 1/21 Dodger Stadium, Los Angeles, CA

The AN FIM World Championship (I have no idea what that means) is apparently a big event with the west coast X games fans.  I have to admit that seeing a Supercross in Dodger Stadium would be pretty cool though.
