Top Weekend Events August 19-21

Hello Wednesday!

First and foremost, I’d like to extend my condolences to the families affected by the collapsed stage at the Sugarland show at the Indiana State Fair.  You’re in our thoughts!

Not to be totally glossed over, but there do seem to be a few other state fair concerts on the list for this week.  While last week’s concert was surely a tragedy, it was a sad, but extremely rare occurrence.  Train and Lady Antebellum will both be performing at the Iowa and Indiana State Fairs respectively.

Other county music stars will be hitting the stage this weekend with huge fan interest.  Kenny Chesney and Zac Brown Band are high again on the list with their summery sound.  Ms. Taylor Swift is once again on the list as well with her Speak Now tour which continues and will continue to draw a lot of interest.  Rascal Flatts, while always popular, seems to be getting even more popular these days.

Justin Beiber’s better half, Selena Gomez, takes the top spot for the weekend.   Selena Gomez and The Scene (the rest of her band) recently took home accolades from the RIAA for their song “Who Says” which went platinum.  The girl can sing!  Her days on Disney’s the Wizards of Wavery Place, dating the Bieb as well as her throngs of pre-tween fans can’t hurt either.

Old rivals the Chicago Cubs vs. the St. Louis Cardinals face off again this weekend.  Both teams have die-hard loyal fans, but sadly, the Cardinals have more World Series wins over the Cubbies.

And finally, once again the MLS has made another appearance on the top weekend events list.  The Houston Dynamo Soccer team will take on the Real Salt Lake.  Keep your eye out for MLS games!

WWE Fans Ready for SummerSlam 2010

Summerslam-2010-tickets

Get tickets to SummerSlam 2010

WWE fans are gearing up for one of the biggest wrestling events in the world – SummerSlam 2010.  The 23rd annual event will take place on Sunday August 15th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will also feature a fan convention, Summerslam Axxess, that will be held on August 14-16 at the Nokia Plaza in L.A. Live.

Five matches have been annouced for Summerslam that have fans excited.  High on the list of anticipated bouts is the matchup between WWE Divas Champion Alicia Fox and contender Melina.  Next on the bout card is a 3 on 1 Handicap match between The Big Show and The Straight Edge Society.  The Straight Edge Society is composed of CM Punk, Joey Mercury, and Luke Gallows.
Also included in the SummerSlam lineup is a singles match for the World Heavyweight Championship between Kane and Rey Mysterio and a 7 on 7 elimination tag team match.  This tag team match will feature Team WWE (John Cena, John Morrison, R-Truth, Bret Hart, Edge, Chris Jericho, and a wrestler to be announced) vs. The Nexus (Wade Barrett, David Otunga, Justin Gabriel, Heath Slater, Darren Young, Skip Sheffield, and Michael Tarver).
Last up on the schedule of events is the WWE championship match between Sheamus (the defending champion) and Randy Orton.  This singles match is one of the most anticipated matches in WWE history.  There is no love lost between these two foes as Sheamus has benefited from interference from The Nexus at the Fatal Four-Way and Money in the Bank to win and successfully defend his title.  Additional stipulations were added to the Summerslam match: should anyone interfere in this match, he, she or they would be suspended indefinitely from the WWE; and also, should Orton lose, he would be rendered non-eligible to challenge for the WWE Championship as long as Sheamus remains the champion.
SummerSlam Tickets sold out in minutes but, fortunately, Free Ticket Classifieds has a few tickets listed in our California Ticket Classifieds section.  If you still can’t find what you are looking for be sure to check out the Ticket Lodge for their entire selection of Discount WWE Tickets.

NBA Finals Game 7 Tickets at Record Prices

Lakers vs Celtic Tickets

Tickets to Game 7 of the NBA Finals are in huge demand and are commanding up to $75,000 per ticket!

Kobe Bryant and the LA Lakers got the job done last night in Game 6 of the NBA Finals with an impressive 89-67 win against the Boston Celtics.   With the NBA finals talk focused on offense, it was defense that took center stage on Tuesday night as the Lakers held the Celtics to the second lowest scoring output in NBA Finals history. Although Kobe Bryant only scored 24 points, Ron Artest pitched in 15 and Pau Gasol nearly had a triple-double with 17 points, 13 rebounds, and 9 assists. It’s fitting that the classic Lakers vs Celtics matchup will all come down to a game 7.  While this series has hardly conjured up images of Magic vs Bird, the series has been extremely entertaining as 2 popular teams from major markets loaded with superstars with equally big egos battle for the 2010 NBA Championship.

As you would imagine, tickets to Game 7 of the NBA Finals are in major demand.  Game 7 of the NBA Finals will take place on Thursday June 17th at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and tickets prices range from $500 for the cheap seats to $75,000 for front row courtside seats. Game 7 is one of the toughest tickets to get in recent memory as indicted by these lofty prices.  If you are looking to watch game 7 from the hardwood in VIP Courtside seats, Free Ticket Classifieds has some Lakers Game 7 Courtside Tickets for only $25,000.  What a bargain!
