Super Dreams In Dallas For 2010!

The Dallas Cowboys popularity grew heavily during the 1970’s and into the 1980’s. The franchise was born into the American Football League in the 1960’s. After integrating into the NFL the history of the team would change forever as they became known as America’s Team. Fans clamored to see players from from the lone star state. Their home and road games were in high demand and the Dallas Cowboys tickets for sale were among the biggest sellers of any NFL franchise.

The success of the franchise subsided in the mid 1980’s and the lowest point came in 1988 which was the final year for legendary coach Tom Landry. The Jerry Jones era started when he bought the Dallas Cowboys from owner H.R. Bright in ’88 and he consequently fired Landry. Jerry’s first measure of business was to hire Jimmy Johnson from the University of Miami.  They were old teammates from their college football days at the University of Arkansas. With the first pick in the 1989 draft the Cowboys took UCLA quarterback Troy Aikman. The trade of Herschel Walker to the Minnesota Vikings brought a bounty of draft picks and the shrewd Johnson drafted his type of players in following drafts. One those players was hall of famer Emmitt Smith who came from the 1990 draft. Subsequent success for the Dallas Cowboys came in the form of two Super Bowls under Johnson and one under former University of Oklahoma coach Barry Switzer. The Super Bowl will be played at Dallas Cowboys Stadium and everyone knows that Jerry Jones would love for his team to be the first NFL franchise to play the big game on their home field.
