NYE and NFL on the Rise – Tickifieds Top 10

Green Bay Packers Tickets

The Green Bay Packers surge to #3 this week following their big win over the Chicago Bears. The NFC North Champs are once again headed to the playoffs.

Although we saw little movement atop this week’s Top 10 most searched for tickets at Tickifieds.com, several events and performers made their first appearance.  Making the largest jump this week is the Green Bay Packers.  Star quarterback Aaron Rodgers, Clay Matthews and the Packers are fresh off clinching the NFC North and are looking towards the playoffs yet again.  Another NFL team making waves are the Washington Redskins. The Skins are currently in a 3 way battle for control of the NFC East.  If the Redskins can hold off the Dallas Cowboys and NY Giants, they would make the playoff for the first time in 5 years!

Other events to note are 3 New Year’s eve comedy and concerts that came in at a tie for the #10 spot on this week’s list.  Once Christmas is officially over, expect New Year’s related events to surge.

1.  One Direction

One Direction is showing absolutely no signs of slowing down as they maintain a comfortable lead over the competition.  1D will be appearing on the XFactor finale tonight so we should see another spike in 1 Direction traffic as parents scamble for last minute Christmas gifts.  Don’t forget, Tickifieds will also be giving away tickets to see One Direction see be sure to register for the ticket giveaway.  For all the details check out:  http://blog.tickifieds.com/win-one-direction-tickets-from-tickifieds-com/

2. Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift continues to maintain her position just behind the champs One Direction.  Perhaps Swift is eyeing the top spot with the recent news she is dating 1D heart-throb Harry Styles.

3. Green Bay Packers

After a big win over the rival Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packer fans are hoarding tickets for the final game of the season (vs the Titans) as well as they playoffs.

4. Brrr! Music Festival

With a lineup that includes Moby, Miss Kittin, Magda, Deniz Koyu, Deniz Kurtel, Chus & Ceballos, Dubfire and Justin Martin , it’s no wonder there is heavy interest in the Brrr Music Fest.  The 2013 version of the festival will be held at Echo Beach in Toronto.

5.  Justin Bieber

Is Bieber Fever starting to cool off?  It sure seems that way as JB slips to #5 this week despite the fact that many tickets have yet to go on sale to the public.  Is the 18 year old starting to get washed up?

6.  BCS Championship

The 2013 BCS Championship game is still drawing considerable interest as fans are still searching for the best deals.  Demand should remain strong through the new year.

7.  Capital One Bowl

The 2013 Capital One Bowl continues to well represent college football.  Fans for both the Georgia Bulldogs and Nebraska Cornhuskers travel well so it should be no surprise that this is one of the more popular bowl games.

8.  Washington Redskins

Robert Griffin III has led the Washington Redskins to a first place tie in the NFC East and has fans excited for the first time in years.  However, RG3 and the Skins are going to make the playoff they will have to beat the Dallas Cowboys in the final game of the season on December 30th, 2012.  This will be a huge game for ticket buyers!

9.  St. Louis Cardinals

It’s a little early to start thinking about baseball but Cardinal fans are an odd bunch.  What else is there to do in St. Louis?  Interest is particularly high for the 2013 Cardinals Season Ticket Holder Reception.

10.  10th Annual Greatest Night of Comedy Tickets

Chicago will be hosting a huge comedy event on New Year’s eve that will feature DeRay Davis, Aries Spears, Lil Duval and Jay Pharoah (of SNL fame) live at Arie Crown Theater.  The 10th Annual Greatest Night of Comedy is looking like it will be one of the hottest events this NYE.

10.  Widespread Panic NYE

Panic-heads are amped to ring in the new year with their favorite band, Widespread Panic.  this jam band with a huge following will be playing NYE at the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, NC.

10.  Phish NYE

Phish, much like Widespread Panic, is a popular jam band picking up where the Grateful Dead left off.  Phish will be playing a series of shows at Madison Square Garden with the most popular being on New Year’s Eve.

This top 10 list is compiled from internal search data from Tickifieds.com and organic traffic from search engines.  Search terms are ranked by using a combination of both sources of search data.

Top Weekend Events 12/2/2011-12/4/2011

Sec Championship Football GameWell, it’s that time of the week where we take a look at the hottest events happening this weekend.  No big surprise this week is dominated by college football once again as this week is “Championship Week”.  The hottest ticket this week is the SEC Football Championship game where undefeated LSU will play against the Georgia Bulldogs.  A win for LSU and they are a lock to get the opportunity to play in the BCS National Championship Game at the Super Dome in New Orleans.

Coming in at #2 is the PAC 12 Championship Game where the Oregon Ducks will face the surprising UCLA Bruins.  The Ducks should easily handle the Bruins and still have an outside shot at facing LSU in the National Championship game.  Coming in at #3 and #4 respectively are the Big 10 and ACC Championship games.  While the teams involved in these games won’t have a shot at a national title they are playing for position in BCS Bowl games.  The Badgers are Spartans are hoping for a chance to play at the Rose Bowl while Clemson and Virginia Tech are competing for a lot in the Orange Bowl.

The big rivalry game between the Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma State Cowboys also made the list (#7).  This game means a lot to both teams as the winner will likely get the nod for the Fiesta Bowl.

Also appearing on the list for the first time are Andrea Bocelli and Cesar Millan.  Bocelli is a popular Italian tenor, instrumentalist, and classical cross-over artist who concerts are always popular around the holiday season.  Cesar Millan is know as the dog whisperer.  We aren’t sure why he appears on this list but apparently many folks in Providence Rhode Island have dogs with behavioral issues.

Rounding out the top 10 we have 3 NFL Football games.  At #8 the undefeated Green Bay Packers will head to the New Meadowlands Stadium and face a resurgent NY Giants squad.   With both teams fighting for a playoff spot, the Washington Redskins and NY Jets comes in at #9.  Last, but not least, we have the Cleveland Browns and Baltimore Ravens.   This game is always much anticipated after the old Browns franchise relocated to Baltimore and became the Ravens.  The “Dawg Pound” surely has not forgot nor forgiven them.
