Justin Bieber and Peter Gabriel Headline Ticket Sales This Weekend

Justin Bieber Believe Tour TicketsTicket industry experts are anticipating record ticket sales as several big acts will begin selling tickets this upcoming weekend.  Expected to dominate ticket sales this weekend is none other than pop sensation Justin Bieber.  As previously reported, the Biebs announced his 2012-2013 Believe Tour on the Ellen Degeneres show on May 23rd.  Presale tickets went on sale last weekend for his tour which will consist of 41 shows across the United States and Canada.  The tour will kickoff with a concert at the Jobing.com Arena in Glendale Arizona on September 29th and will end with a show at the American Airlines Arean in Miami Florida on January 26th, 2013.  Tickets to his shows in Canada will go on sale to the public tomorrow June 1st with the remaining US tour dates going public on Saturday June 2nd.  We expect each of the 41 concert stops to sell out quickly.   This means that many fans who were unable to acquire tickets through Ticketmaster will be looking to the secondary ticket market to purchase tickets.  Indicative of this is the fact that Tickifieds.com already has over 186 ads for Justin Bieber including the highly coveted VIP Meet and Greet passes.

Also going on sale this weekend are tickets to the highly anticipated Peter Gabriel tour.  Mr. Gabriel’s Back To Front Tour will be limited to 13 cities and will begin with a show in Qubec at the Colisee Pepsi on September 16th and will conclude at the Santa Barbara Bowl on October 9th.

Other ticket sales expect to draw interest this weekend include the Carolina Panthers (2012/2013 Season), the Z107.9 Summer Jam, WWE (events in San Diego, Indianapolis, Dallas, and Pikeville), Monster Jam (Baltimore), and Real Madrid Vs. Celtic FC in Philadelphia.  On Monday tickets to Seattle Sounders Fc Vs. Chelsea also goes on sale.

Top Weekend Events – May 20 – 22nd

Welcome to your Wednesday.

This week’s top events list brings an odd mix of events.  It has everything from baseball to Nascar to Country Music to Wrestling to Heavy Metal.

The top even for the weekend is the Cubs vs. Red Sox game taking place at Fenway Park.  Each of these teams has die-hard, loyal fans.  The Red Sox hold a very interesting title within the MLB, one they’ve held for the past 8 years, every game since May 15, 2003, has sold out.  Recently, they have won the World Series Championship in 2003 and 2007.  Sadly, the Cubs have not been that lucky.  They haven’t won a World Championship in 102 years, the longest draught of any MLB team.  Perhaps this is the year and they can win it for the late Ron Santo who passed away late last year.

The NHRA O’Reilly Summer Nationals is full throttle drag racing.  This is the 60th anniversary season of the NHRA.  There are 22 Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock care events and 16 Pro Stock Motorcycle Events on schedule.  This is a very loud and very fun event.

For your music events, the one to take exceptional note of it the Jason Aldean show at Riverbend.  This particular show has garnered A LOT of attention on Free Ticket Classifieds.  Fans are all of sudden hankering for tickets.  Lawn Seats are of particular interest to the fans.  Sugarland has a very strong fan base, as evident by them showing up on the Top Weekend Events list for multiple weeks in a row.  This is U2’s first appearance on the list.  The shows on tour now are make-up shows from when Bono cancelled last year due to a serious back injury.  The U2 360 Tour is the highest grossing tour to date in history, beating out the $558 million earnings from the Rolling Stones tour the year previous.  Since these are make-up shows, tickets are really cheap.  I’m surprised to see System of a Down on the list because, while they have a strong fan base, it’s a pretty specific demographic that is drawn to them.  Serj Tankian, the lead singer, had great success on his debut solo Album in 2007 while the band was on hiatus.  In later 2010, SOAD announced that they would be reuniting for festival dates in Europe and a few in the States.

Glee Live! In Concert! is a concert tour featuring the members of the cast of the infinitely popular television series on Fox.  Fans are crazy about the show and the concert series as well.  Their popularity knows no bounds at this time.

2010 WWE Hell In A Cell Preview

2010 Hell in a Cell

The Undertaker will once again headline a cast that includes Sheamus, John Cena, CM Punk, Edge, Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, and Kane at this years WWE Hell In A Cell.

The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) pay per view event Hell in a Cell is once again generating a lot of buzz. The 2010 version of Hell in a Cell will take place on October 3rd, 2010 at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas and will include another all-star lineup.  According to WWE.com, the lineup will include John Cena, The Undertaker, CM Punk, Edge, Randy Orton, Chris Jericho, R-Truth, Sheamus, Jack Swagger, Christian, The Big Show, Alberto Del Rio, John Morrison, Kofi Kingston, Matt Hardy, MVP, Rey Mysterio, Michelle McCool, Maryse, Eve, and Gail Kim.

If you are not familiar with Hell in a cell, all wrestling matches during this event will take place inside a roofed steel cage.  The cage actually encompasses both the ring and the ringside area further adding to the drama.  The cage itself is 20 feet high and weighs in at over 5 tons! The cage is also locked and chained to keep other professional wrestlers from interfering with the matches or wrestlers from escaping before the match has been decided.  However, since the birth of Hell in a Cell, several characters have been able to successfully breach the cell’s security.  In the first Cell match in St. Louis in 1997, the door was unlocked to allow the removal of an injured cameraman and allowed Shawn Michaels and The Undertaker to battle outside and on top of the cell.  Also, in Nashville (2002) the door was opened with bolt cutters during the Triple H vs Chris Jericho match to allow medics to reach injured referee Tim White.  Chris Jericho actually ended up getting pinned on top of the cell!

The Main Event for 2010 Hell in a Cell include:

2-on-6 Handicap – Hell In A Cell

D-Generation X (Shawn Michaels & Triple H) vs. The Nexus (Wade Barrett, David Otunga, Michael Tarver, Skip Sheffield, Heath Slater & Justin Gabriel)

WWE Championship – Hell In A Cell

Sheamus (current champion) vs. John Cena

World Heavyweight Championship – Hell In A Cell

Kane (current champion) vs. The Undertaker

Other bouts include:

Big Show vs. CM Punk
Rey Mysterio vs. Alberto Del Rio
WWE Women’s Championship: Layla (c) vs. Beth Phoenix
Intercontinental Championship: Dolph Ziggler (c) vs. Drew McIntyre
