It’s been a while since we detailed any major concert announcements so we decided we would summarize the latest and greatest from the music world. Although many event ticket marketing professionals have already begun focusing on sports (primarily NFL and college football) , some recent concert announcements are sure to peak the interested of ticket brokers.
All of the tours listed below are expected to have heavy fan interest and make excellent candidates for significant promotion.
Wiz Khalifa 2050 Tour
The Wiz has a new album coming out (“O.N.I.F.C”) and will be heading out on tour this fall as part of his 2050 tour. The 2050 tour will hit 30 cities over a 3 month period this fall – the full schedule can be seen here. Tickets went on sale on September 7th, 2012 and sales continue to be strong for this tour.
Green Day ¡Uno!, ¡Dos!, ¡Tré! Tour
The status of Green Day’s 2012-13 tour is a little be up in the air after the announcement that Billie Joe Armstrong voluntarily checked himself into rehab. They have cancelled a show already but according to sources, it appears the tour will go on. Green Day is still extremely popular even after nearly two decades. Green Day released the album “Uno” yesterday (9/25/2012) with “Dos” and “Tres” slated for release in November and January respectively. The full Green Day tour schedule can be found here.
R. Kelly Single Ladies Tour
R&B icon R. Kelly will be out on tour this fall as part of his “Single Ladies Tour”. The tour will promote his upcoming album “Black Panties” and will hit 24 cities over 3 months (October – December 2012). R. Kelly has consistently be a strong box office performer over the years so many expect fan interest to remain high despite not having a hit song in several years.
Rihanna Diamonds World Tour

Aerosmith Global Warming Tour
After a success first batch of Global Warming Tour shows, Steven Tyler and Aerosmith decided to keep the show rolling. The fall leg will consist of 14 addition shows with special guest Cheap Trick begining on Novemeber 8th. Trans-siberian Orchestra: The Lost Christmas Eve
Last but not least, we have TSO announcing their latest Christmas show, The Lost Christmas Eve. It promises to be another spectacular display of light and sound that has made this heavy metal group so insanely popular over the years. Their unique blend of rock and classical music makes the show appealing to just about anyone. For many it has already become a holiday tradition.
