Top Ticket Search Queries 2/23/2012

If you are involved in search engine optimization (SEO) you are probably well aware that Google no longer passes on search query data for users that are logged into their Google accounts.  With these recent changes it is becoming more and more important to analyze search data where ever you can obtain it.  Unless your website gets substantial search engine traffic it can be difficult to gather meaningful search engine data when anywhere from 40-60% of searches have no keyword data associated with it.  Fortunately, since Tickifieds gets thousands of unique visitors each day from search engines (primarily Google), we still get useful referral data even with a loss of roughly half of the data.  So, if you are an event ticket marketing guru you will want to check out or blog regularly as we will try and keep you informed on event ticket search trends.

In this new regular feature we combine search terms from major referring search engines like Google, Yahoo, Bing, AOL, Ask, Alta Vista, and Lycos with our native search to come up with the top 20 most searched performers and/or events.  Long-tailed keywords (which often include date, location, venue) are aggregated by performer where applicable.  As you can see from the list below, the most  searched for tickets typically involve performers with recent on sale events or events happening in the immediate future.

Tops in today’s search are the alternative rockers Chevelle.  The band from Grayslake Illinois is currently wrapping up their winter 2012 tour with sold out shows in Portland (Maine), New York, Atlantic City, Baltimore, Norfolk, Indianapolis, and Oklahoma City.

Top Weekend Events 02/10 – 02/13

racingAnd your Wednesday Weekend Top Events post is back!  After the Blizzard of 2011 knocked out internet and being in New York for the Ticket Summit, we will continue with your regularly scheduled program!

This upcoming weekend features of a number of exciting events!  One of the more exciting events in the Daytona 500 happening at the Daytona Speedway in, can you guess, Daytona, Florida.  They Daytona 500 is one of four restrictor plate races on the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series schedule. Jamie McMurray is the current defending champion of the race. The Daytona 500 is thought of as the most significant and important race on the NASCAR schedule, carrying the largest purse by a landslide.  Those in attendance are only superseded by those watching the races on TV. The temperatures in Daytona should be around the mid 60’s, a huge welcome for most of the people traveling to this event.

The Boston Celtics are sweeping up the ratings for this weekend as well while they host both the LA Lakers and Miami Heat, 2 teams that also definitely draw crowds.  The Heat obviously features the phenoms of Dwayne Wade, Lebron James and Chris Bosh.  James and Wade were selected to be starters for the Eastern Conference at the All-Star Game, becoming the second pair of teammates to be selected as All-Star starters in franchise history.  According to Forbes Magazine, the Lakers are the second most valuable NBA Franchise with an estimated value of $643 in 2011.  That’s not too shabby, eh?  The Celtics hold their own with their “Boston Three Party” of Ray Allen, Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce made famous by a series of strategic moves in 2007 by GM Danny Ainge.

Other events of note are County superstar, Brad Paisley, on his H2O Frozen Over Tour featuring Darius Rucker and Jerrod Niemann.  Nickelodeon’s pop princess, Miranda Cosgrove also displays her talents in New York City.  Sure to be included in her concert is her hit song “Dancing Crazy” which within three weeks of airplay, debuted at number 40 on the US Billboard Adult Pop Songs.  Comedian Kevin Hart is also always another great event with his quirky and hilarious styling.  He’s done several stand-up tv specials for Comedy Central already.

Miranda Cosgrove from Nickelodeon announces Tour Dates

Those Disney and Nickelodeon stars sure know how to make careers for themselves!  In the past, there was Hillary Duff, Amanda Bynes, Kenan and Kel, Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Zac Efron, Vanessa Hudgens, Ashley Tisdale, Lindsey Lohan, Shia Labeouf, The Jonas Brothers and obviously, Miley Cyrus.  Those child entertainers went on to have some big time movie and singing careers that have launched them worldwide and incredibly successful futures.

The next rising star from that genre is Miranda Cosgrove.  Ms. Cosgrove started her budding career at the age of three; acting in commercials.  Her next big break was as Summer Hathaway in School of Rock; holding her own against Jack Black.  After the success of that movie, Miranda was cast in the show Drake & Josh which became a near instantaneous hit.  Soon after, she was cast as the lead in iCarly which is wildly popular.  She earns a cool $180,000 per episode!

Miranda performed four songs, including the theme song “Leave it All to Me”, “Stay My Baby”, “About You Now”, and “Headphones On on a soundtrack album for iCarly which was released in June of 2008 and sang the theme song, “Leave it All to Me”.  Two short years later, she released her debut album, Sparks Fly, on April 27th.   She had help from The Matrix, Dr. Luke and Espionage.

Miranda Cosgrove officially announced her tour on December 3rd on her website, called The Dancing Crazy Tour.  The tour will promote her debut album, Sparks Fly.  The Dancing Crazy Tour has 20 North American dates in 2011 and will feature Greyson Chance as the opening act.
