1D Back on Top – Tickifieds Top 10

Beyonce The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour

Beyonce surges this week to #2 on the Tickifieds Top 10 after announcing her plans to tour in 2013.

Although much of the country was buried in the snow this past week, the hint of spring is in the air as more artists announced plans for summer tours and festival lineups are starting to leak out.  However, this past week has been all about Beyonce as demand for tickets to her 2013 The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour is particularly strong.   Although they just missed list, a late surge by Pearl Jam is also of note.  Pearl Jam broke a box office record by being the fastest concert to sell out at Wrigley Field.  Considering Wrigley Field has hosted the likes of Paul McCartney, Jimmy Buffet, Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Roger Waters, Bruce Springsteen, Dave Matthews Band, Rascal Flatts, Elton John, Billy Joel and the Police that is pretty impressive.

So, without further delay, here are your top events on this week….

1.  One Direction

After a week knocked out of the spotlight by the Super Bowl, 1 Direction is back on top as the #1 event on Tickifieds.  Teenage girls are still eagerly looking for the highly coveted meet and greet passes.  However, they are quickly disappearing.  As always, you need only look at our list of the most popular ads to see just how dominant One Direction is…

Top Weekend Events 2/18 – 2/20

It’s Wednesday, it’s Wednesday!  It’s time to find out the most popular events happening this weekend!

This Wednesday’s list is heavy on the music, which is a large departure from Wednesday’s past.  The type of music runs the gamut from country to class rock to pop.  The always intriguing Lady Gaga finally makes her first appearance on the list with her show in New Jersey, her homestate.  By the way, did you see her costume at the Grammys??  What the heck was up with her egg outfit?  I’m sure her outfits will not disappoint at this event either.

Kid Rock has had so much success in every genre of music so far.  He really is a “Horse of a Different Color.”  He goes seamlessly from rock to rap to country to even a little (dare I say?) easy listening.  What should not be expected is a boring show.  The man knows how to perform.

The San Antonio Rodeo had a most impressive line-up of events, 2 of which are showing up on our Wednesday list.  Country stars Josh Turner and Martina McBride are coveted performances to attend and also the last two music events at the SAR.    Some of the other’s that previously performed were  Miranda Lambert, Styx, Clay Walker, Train, Reba McEntire, Bill Engvall, Toby Keith and Lady Antebellum.

Perennial rock favorite, John Mellencamp also makes an appearance on the list with his New York Show at the Radio City Music Hall.  His latest album, No Better Than This, was released on August 17th, 2010 and has been greeted with substantial approval.

Hockey is one of the biggest sports still in regular season at the moment and thus is drawing a lot of attention.  The Heritage Classic taking place in Calgary, Alberta will pit the Calgary Flames vs. the Montreal Canadiens, two extremely good Canadian teams.  This is going to be quite the event!

The NBA Allstars game also takes place this weekend.  This event matches the best players in the Eastern Conference against the best players in the Western Conference.  The coaches are selected  by looking at which current teams have the most wins in their conference through the Sunday 2-weeks prior the All-Star game.  Some notable players will include Dwayne Wade, Kevin Garnett, Deron Williams, Kevin Love, Derrick Rose and Kobe Bryant.

Two Big 10 teams face on the 19th, OSU vs. Purdue in Indiana.

And the Daytona 500 reigns supreme over the Wednesday Weekend list once again with more exciting racing events!  Be sure to tune in!

1.)    2011 Daytona 500, Daytona International Speedway, FL 02/20/2011

2.)    NBA All Star Game,  Staples Center, Los Angeles, CA 2/20/2011

3.)    Purdue vs. Ohio State,  Mackey Arena, West Lafayette, IN 2/19/2011

4.)    Bruins vs. Senators, Scotiabank Place, Ottawa,  2/18/2011

5.)    Lady Gaga, Broadwalk Hall, New Jersey 2/19/2011

6.)    Kid Rock – Bridgestone Arena,  Nashville, TN 2/18/2011

7.)    Heritage Classic, McMahon Stadium, Calgary, AB  – 2/20/2011

8.)    John Mellencamp –  Radio City Music Hall, New York City 02/19/2011

9.)    San Antonio Rodeo – Josh Turner, San Antonio Texas 02/19/2011

10.) San Antonio Rodeo – Martina McBride, San Antonio Texas 02/18/2011

As always, check out for all your ticket needs!

Top February Events

It’s no secret that January and February are some of the slowest months for ticket sales.  During the fall and winter NFL Tickets and College football tickets sales surge but with both seasons over, there is a large void in the ticket market.  NBA, NHL, and NCAA (basketball) seasons are in full swing but demand for regular season tickets is generally low and the playoff and March Madness are still a long ways away.  This is also the time of year that many concert performers take a break and gear up for their summer tours.   Although this is the time of year that many of these highly anticipated tickets go on sale, conversion are usually greatest as the event date nears.  So with that in mind, what are the top upcoming events for February 2010?

2010 San Antonio Rodeo (February 4 th to February 20th) – ATT Center

The 2010 San Antonio Rodeo will feature some of the hottest pop and coutry artists performing live at the ATT Center in San Antonio.  The 2010 Lineup includes notable recording artists such as Lady Antebellum, Tim McGraw, Selena Gomez, Foreigner, Rodney Atkins, Dierks Bentley, Trace Adkins, Alan Jackson, Toby Keith, Gary Allan, and many more.  Free Ticket Classifieds already has some great tickets available to many of these show in our Texas Concert Ticket Classifieds.

Super Bowl XLIV (February 7th, 2010) – Sun Life Stadium, Miami, Florida

What list of top events in February would be complete without the Super Bowl?  The Super Bowl is perhaps the biggest event in the world and these tickets are in high demand.  With the high demand comes a large tickets price – face value tickets start at $900+.  While Super Bowl tickets are not likely to sell at large volumes, the high point price makes selling Super Bowl tickets highly profitable.

NBA All Star Game (February 14, 2010) – Dallas Cowboys Stadium

Of all the major sports All Star events, the NBA version is perhaps the most in-demand and anticipated events.  This year the NBA All Star Game will be held at the new Dallas Cowboys Satdium and all 85,000+ tickets have already been sold.  The large amount of tickets available and large demand should mean that a large volume of tickets will be sold to the All Star game itself, as well as, the NBA All Star Rookie Challenge and NBA All Star Saturday events.  The NBA All Star Saturday will feature the Shooting Stars competition, the Skills Challenge, the Three-point shootout, and the Slam Dunk contest.

Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games (February 12 th to February 28th)

While Free Ticket Classifieds primarily features tickets from events in the United States, the 2010 Winter Games will be held just over the border in Vancouver Canada.  That means lots of people from the US will head north to see Olympians battle for the gold in many popular events.  Some of the most popular events include Mens Ice Hockey, Snowboarding, Skiing, and figure skating.  Also extremely popular are the Opening and Closing Ceremonies.  To Post or view Winter Games ads check out our Winter Games Ticket Classifieds.

John Mayer – Tour Begins February 4, 2010 in Sunrise Florida

John Mayer’s high anticipated tour will kickoff in early February as he travels through Florida, Tennessee, Michigan, Canada, and winds down the month with big stops in Washington DC, Philadelphia, and New York.  Look for John Mayer tickets to fly off the shelves as each date approaches throughout February.

Black Eyed Peas –  15 February show begining February 4, 2010

Like John Mayer, like Black Eyed Peas will kickoff their 2010 tour in February fresh off several Grammy Awards. Fergie and crew will begin the tour with a sold out show in Atlanta.  February will also feature shows in popular cities such as Miami, Tampa, Nashville, Columbus, Raleigh, Charlotte, Washington DC, New York, and Boston.  This tour should sell strong throughout the month.
