Top 10 EventsAnyone involved in marketing knows that the biggest key to success is knowing your customers.  At Tickifieds, we are always scouring our data and analytics to determine what our customers are looking for so that we can pass on that information to those who help populate our site’s classified ads with tickets for our visitors to purchase.  Although one would think that letting the whole world know what events are most popular would provide a competitive disadvantage to those posting the ads, healthy competition lowers prices and is what ultimately leads our visitors to have a positive user experience.  If they get a good deal on tickets they are far more likely to return when looking for tickets to their next event in the future.  Afterall, with the outlandish service charges used by Stubhub and the rampant scams and spam on Craigslist, people are looking for a safe a secure place to shop for tickets.  So enough with the blantant self-promotion…let’s get to the top 10 for the Week starting on April 29th and ending on May 5, 2012.

Top 10 Tickifieds Ticket Searches

1. One Direction

The boy band craze is apparently back in full force as One Direction (1D) has been search for more than 3 times more than any other artist or sports team.  That is pretty impressive given the fact that the NBA and NHL playoffs are currently going on.  In particular VIP, Front Row, and Meet and Greet tickets appear to be in high demand.

2.  2012 Hangout Music Festival

The 2012 Hangout Music Festival has an impressive lineup including Dave Matthews Band, Jack White, The Flaming Lips, Skrillex, Young the Giant and more.  The 3 day festival will take place on May 18-20 at Gulf Shores Beach in Alabama.  3 Day passes are particularly popular.

3.  DJ Pauly D

Pauly D of Jersey Shore fame has taken his guido act on tour as a DJ- hence the name DJ Pauly D.  While I am not into the club and/or DJ scene Pauly D must know his way around a turntable as he will be playing solo shows in Rio Rancho and Detroit.  He will also be performing at the Bamboozle Festival in NY and the Summer Mixtape Fest in Hershey PA.

4.  2012 Sasquatch Music Festival

The annual music and camping festival that takes place at the legendary Gorge Amphitheater in George, WA on Labor Day weekend has another awesome lineup including Jack White, Beck, Bon Iver, Pretty Lights, Tenacious D, The Shins, Beirut, Girl Talk, The Roots, the Head and the Heart, Portlandia, Feist, Silversun Pickups, Fun., Alabama Shakes, Todd Barry and many more..premium camping passes look to be in short supply!

5.   Eric Church

Every week there is a battle between Eric Church and Jason Aldean.  This week Mr. Church gets the nod

6.  New York Rangers

The NY Rangers are the #1 seed in the NHL east and have a tough series against the Washington Capitals on their way to the Stanley Cup Finals.  Hockey in back in New York.

7.  LA Lakers

The Lakers may not have looked all that great during the strike shortened regular season but they are coming on strong in the playoffs.  Lakers fans always come out of the woodworks during the postseason.

8.  Jason Aldean

Jason Aldean’s popularity keeps growing and growing.  I can’t think of a week in which Mr. Aldean wasn’t in the top 10 of something.

9.  Oklahoma City Thunder

The Oklahoma City Thunder are one of the favorites for the NBA Finals.  Led by superstars Kevin Durant and Russel Westbrook, they certainly have the star power to go all the way and attract plenty of fans.

10.  Miami Heat

While the rest of the country may despise Lebron James, Dwayne Wade, and Chris Bosh with a passion, fans in Miami are eating it up.  The Heat are cruising past the NY Knicks and without the Chicago Bulls in their way, the past through the NBA is looking pretty easy.
